Special Prosecutor Jack Smith asked the court to dismiss the case against the victorious President of the US, Donald Trump. He announced this himself on November 25, Monday.

In his statement to Judge Tanya Chutkan, Smith explained that the US Constitution requires the case to be dismissed before the defendant's inauguration. That day, Chutkan officially halted the case.

We remind you, during the election campaign, Donald Trump had said that he would fire Jack Smith immediately upon his return to the White House.
