The Law (№ URQ-1009, dated 04.12.2024) signed by the President amends the Criminal Procedure Code with additions and changes. This was reported by the Ministry of Justice.
The Law complements the code with a new chapter that provides for the recognition and enforcement of foreign state court decisions, the acceptance and transfer to continue the punishment of persons deprived of liberty, as well as the continuation of compulsory medical treatment for persons subjected to medical coercive measures.
Also, the bases for receiving and transferring persons deprived of liberty and persons subjected to medical coercive measures, and the procedural status of participants in the trial process are being defined.
The Law will come into force from the day it is officially published.
