Currently, a video conference meeting is being held under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, regarding the work carried out in the field of social protection and the priority tasks for 2025.
In the meeting, it was pointed out that not all leaders are able to properly organize employment for the needy population, increase their income, and provide them with targeted social services and assistance.
Specifically, 1,000 leaders assigned to poor families were unable to show results. 184 of them never visited the households of these families even once.
The employment rate of persons with disabilities in the republic has reached 20 percent, but the efforts are unsatisfactory in Jalakuduk, Chimboy, Pastdargom, Chortoq, and Denov districts.
Authorities were instructed to make these districts exemplary and assign specific tasks to each responsible person.
Furthermore, the 598 social facility projects included in next year's Investment Program were criticized for not being designed to accommodate people with disabilities.
Provincial and district governors were instructed to correct the mistakes.
Provincial governors were supposed to create at least one model street this year, making it accessible for people with disabilities.
Work in this regard has started in Andijan, Samarkand, Surkhandarya, Tashkent regions, whereas the remaining regions have neither designed projects nor allocated funds, it was pointed out.
Authorities were tasked to complete these tasks within two months and plan to create one more street in each district next year.
Deputy Prosecutor General I. Adhamov was instructed to take strict measures against those who do not make changes.
