After an hour-long confrontation in South Korea, attempts to arrest President Yoon Suk Yeol were suspended. This was reported by "Yonhap" here.
"Due to the ongoing confrontation, knowing that it was nearly impossible to execute the arrest warrant and worried about the safety of the officers on the scene, we stopped the operation,"— says the official statement.
It should be noted that nearly three thousand police officers had been deployed to arrest the president earlier. Additionally, around 1,200 supporters of Yoon gathered near the residence, calling for his defense and the cancellation of the impeachment.
