In the Syrdarya region, a cassation instance court was held for a person sentenced to 3 years of corrective labor for participating in a crime committed 13 years ago at the court of criminal cases. This was reported in the "Huquq24" TV program here.

Accordingly, former IIB officer A.R. was convicted in 2012 for negligence during his service in the theft of goods valued at 208,000 soms, involving 22 bags of fertilizer.

"I was sentenced to 3 years of corrective labor with a condition of transferring 20 percent of my salary to the state. [Upon release] when I tried to get a job, no one would hire me because I was a convict. I have been unemployed for 13 years. I went to court and filed an application to dismiss my convicted status," — the convict said.

The citizen was temporarily sent as auxiliary force to an agricultural chemical base in Yangier city. The warehouse manager had allowed the concealed departure of 22 bags of nitrate valued at 208,000 soms from the auto base on a "Zil" truck. He was convicted under Article 208 of the Criminal Code (Inaction of authority), deeming him connected to the crime.

In the cassation instance court session, the judiciary determined that the citizen was not related to the crime committed by other individuals and that his actions did not constitute a criminal offense, thus acquitting him based on part 2 of Article 83 of the Criminal-Procedural Code (If the actions of the accused do not constitute a crime).

"I did not expect it, because 13 years have passed and I thought I would not be acquitted. My parents, brother, and sister are happy," — said the acquitted citizen.
