“Measures to further improve the control over waste, certain dangerous products, and chemical substances in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan” Government resolution (No. 916, December 30, 2024) was adopted. The Ministry of Justice reported about this.
According to the decision, the following were approved:
▪️The list of dangerous products and waste whose import to Uzbekistan is prohibited;
▪️The list of plant protection products and other persistent organic pollutants whose import to Uzbekistan is prohibited;
▪️The list of dangerous products and waste whose import-export is regulated by the state and which require compulsory ecological certification.
Importers bringing designated waste into the territory of Uzbekistan for recycling and disposal must have the following:
🔹importers who independently fully recycle, process or reuse waste – a statement project on the environmental impact of waste recycling, processing, or reuse processes, based on a positive conclusion of the state environmental expertise;
🔹importers who cannot independently fully recycle, process or reuse waste – a contract with legal entities engaged in the disposal and processing of such waste regarding the transfer or sale of waste.
This decision will come into force 3 months after its official publication.
