A man who attempted to sell a 23-year-old woman for prostitution in the Do'stlik district of Jizzakh region was sentenced by the court. This was reported on the Milliy TV channel here.

It is noted that the 29-year-old man was caught trying to sell a woman, unknown to him, to Russia for the purpose of prostitution.

"I confess to my crime and regret it. I am the sole breadwinner in the family. My wife is pregnant, and I have one underage child. I ask the court for leniency," — said the defendant.

The Do'stlik district court for criminal cases found the man guilty under Article 135 Part 1 (Human trafficking) of the Criminal Code. He was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months of restricted freedom.
