According to the data from the Statistics Agency, at the beginning of the 2024/2025 academic year, the total number of teachers (excluding substitutes) teaching in general secondary education institutions in our country amounted to 564.9 thousand.

This indicator has increased by 78.3 thousand compared to the beginning of the 2019/2020 academic year.

The number of teachers (excluding substitutes) teaching in general secondary education institutions over the years:

At the beginning of the 2019/2020 academic year: 486.6 thousand;

At the beginning of the 2020/2021 academic year: 508.2 thousand;

At the beginning of the 2021/2022 academic year: 510.0 thousand;

At the beginning of the 2022/2023 academic year: 521.6 thousand;

At the beginning of the 2023/2024 academic year: 547.7 thousand;

At the beginning of the 2024/2025 academic year: 564.9 thousand.
