More than 48 kg of narcotics imported from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan were confiscated.

The State Security Service reported incidents identified in three regions.

More than 48 kg of narcotic substances smuggled from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan were seized. The State Security Service reports. 

The joint operation conducted by the State Security Service's Surkhandarya regional department and the regional internal affairs department identified a resident of Denov district, born in 1984, previously convicted for drug trafficking, who was smuggling narcotics from the Republic of Tajikistan into our country through alternative routes.

As a result, from the basement of his residence, 576 gr. “heroin”, 2 kg. 447 gr. “opium” and 1 kg. 913 gr. “hashish” substances were officially seized. 

Furthermore, from his father, born in 1956, previously convicted for drug trafficking, 9 kg. 62 gr. “hashish” substance and an unspecified origin of 137 thousand 460 US dollars and 569 million 832 thousand Som were recovered.

Additionally, the rapid action operation continued, and his brother, born in 1980, previously convicted for drug trafficking, and a criminal associate, resident of Uzun district, born in 1987, were also arrested, from whose house an unspecified origin of 159 thousand 400 US dollars was seized. 

The State Security Service's Border Troops and Namangan regional department conducted a rapid action operation in Yangiqo‘rg‘on district, where a bus moving in the “Yangiqo‘rg‘on-Namangan” direction was stopped and inspected. 

As a result, luggage belonging to 2 citizens traveling as passengers, residents of this district, born in 1999 and 2002, was found to contain a total of 19 kg. 915 gr. “hashish” substance, which was officially seized. 

During the pre-investigation checkup, it was revealed that they had smuggled the narcotic substance from the Kyrgyz Republic with the intention of selling it in the future.

In an incident observed in the Andijan region, a resident of Marhamat district, born in 1996, previously convicted, arrived at the section of the “Uzbek-Kyrgyz” state border passing through this district territory, and took 4 kg. 931 gr. “opium” and 9 kg. 949 gr. “hashish” substances previously smuggled over by a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic, and was detained by the Border Troops’ military personnel while returning.

Currently, criminal cases have been initiated against these individuals under articles 246 and 273 of the Criminal Code, and investigation actions are being carried out.
