The government decision (No. 127, 27.02.2025) approved the "Administrative Regulation for Providing the State Service of Forming the Identification Number of a Vehicle for Legal Entities Manufacturing Vehicles." The Ministry of Justice reported this.
The Regulation defines the procedure for providing state services to legal entities manufacturing vehicles for forming the vehicle identification number.
This Regulation applies to wheeled vehicles regulated by the general technical regulation on the safety of wheeled vehicles being introduced into circulation, approved by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The state service is provided through the Centers for State Services or the Public Services Agency (my.gov.uz).
In this regard, the Uzbekistan Agency for Technical Regulation through the Uzbekistan Standards Institute ensures the formation of the vehicle identification number.
The VIN code consists of three parts:
▪️the manufacturer's international identification code (WMI code);
▪️the descriptive section (VDS);
▪️the indicative section (VIS).
The VIN code is considered a combination of characters given for the purpose of vehicle identification.
