A task has been set to increase the share of local construction materials to at least 95 percent in hotels built as part of the development of tourism infrastructure in Uzbekistan. This was announced at a videoconference meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

It was noted that a large two-year program for the development of tourism infrastructure in the regions has recently been adopted. According to it, the construction of 34 large tourism facilities and more than 1,000 accommodation facilities, including 200 hotels, is planned across the country.

The meeting cited the example of the "Kumushkon Resort" tourism complex in the Parkent district of the Tashkent region, which is expected to be put into operation in the coming days. It was noted that 98 percent of the construction materials in this project were sourced from local products.

In this regard, khokims have been tasked with ensuring that the share of local materials in hotels being built in their regions also reaches at least 95 percent.

To achieve this, it has been decided to increase the production volume of products widely used in hotel construction and decoration by the end of 2027. In particular, it is planned to increase the production of paint and varnish products to 150 thousand tons, sanitary ware products to 2 million units, and PVC pipes and fittings to 300 thousand tons.

Also, a task has been set to significantly increase the production volume of wallpaper and decorative panels.
