A video has spread on social media claiming that the principal of the 50th general education school in the Narpay district of the Samarkand region has beaten a student.
According to the Regional Department of Pre-School and School Education, a 8th grade student, Sh.I., was reprimanded by teacher K.Ŏ. on March 17th, 2025, during a biology class, for chatting with a classmate and not sitting quietly.
However, the student, instead of heeding the warning, insulted the teacher, leading to a confrontation between the teacher and the student.
One of the students reported the incident to the school principal. When the principal arrived in the classroom, he saw student Sh.I. holding teacher K.Ŏ. by the collar, attempted to separate them, and in a fit of anger, slapped the student on the face, as stated in his explanatory letter.
The situation is being investigated by law enforcement authorities.
