In the Syrdarya region, a girl was fined 7.5 million soms for distributing a photo of a Road Traffic Safety Department officer with the intention of discrediting him.
According to the court document, according to, on the 23rd-24th of February of this year, Z.Y. posted a photo on her Instagram page that was taken during the performance of duties by O.R., a senior specialist of the Information Group of the JHH YHHB of the Syrdarya Regional Department of Internal Affairs, accusing him of lying and “blackmail.” An administrative report was drawn up on the incident of disseminating information that leads to the discreditation of a law enforcement officer.
In court, Z.Y. stated that O.R. had collected documents accusing her of driving a car without documents and had taken her to court, where she was sentenced to administrative detention for seven days. During that trial, she was handcuffed, and he took pictures of this, which he then widely broadcasted on television and his social media page. She has not been married yet, and the video report from this trial could negatively affect her future life, which made her angry. After she served the administrative detention, in a fit of anger, she posted this video on her social media page, and then deleted it. She also mentioned that she did these actions in anger, regrets what she did, and asked for legal leniency, ensuring that such an incident would not happen again.
On March 5th of this year, the case of Z.Y. was considered by the Gulistan city court on criminal matters. She was found guilty of committing a violation described in Article 1952 of the Administrative Responsibility Code (Dissemination of photo and/or video images of law enforcement officials in a manner that discredits them), and was sentenced to a fine of twenty times the basic calculation amount, namely 7 million 500 thousand soms.
