Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of dragging out time in order to continue the war.
According to him, Russia is using diplomatic processes only to preserve the war and the occupied territories.
“The main thing is that diplomatic efforts must be coordinated and aimed at real results. Unfortunately, Russia is just trying to buy time, while the war and occupation continue,” Zelensky said in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).
He noted that Ukraine is currently working with international partners to increase pressure on Russia and bring it back to a reasonable and effective negotiating position.
“The war must be ended through negotiations”
Zelensky made an open call to Russia, saying he is ready for negotiations based on any constructive and real proposals.
“Ukraine is ready for meaningful forms of negotiations. But if Russia once again sets unrealistic conditions or sabotages the process, it should not go without serious consequences,” he added.
The President emphasized that the war should be ended through diplomatic means and reminded that negotiations must be fair and within the framework of international law.
The Ukrainian government is discussing with Western countries additional measures to further isolate Russia, strengthen sanctions, and force it to stop the war.
