Experts have long warned that excessive consumption of chips, carbonated drinks, and other "harmful" foods can pose a threat to the stomach. However, the danger lies not only in the products but also in the excessive intake of salt and sugar, as mentioned by Andrey Kharitonov, a candidate of medical sciences, gastroenterologist he pointed out.

"Regular consumption of very salty food increases the division speed of stomach cells, which always leads to 'breakage' in the cell and raises the risk of cancer development," - he said.

According to the World Health Organization's recommendations, a safe daily dose is not more than five grams of salt (approximately one teaspoon) and 25 grams of sugar (approximately six teaspoons). Exceeding these norms imposes an additional burden on the body and can cause not only gastrointestinal diseases but also other serious pathologies.
