It has been reported that the president of the Palestinian Football Association, Jibril Rajoub, was unable to obtain a US visa to participate in events related to the 2026 World Cup. Zamon.uz reported this, citing foreign sources.
According to the Associated Press, Rajoub was among the heads of national football federations invited by FIFA to the World Cup. He had also passed accreditation for the tournament, but the issue of the visa required for entry into the United States was not resolved.
Currently, the head of the Palestinian Football Association is in Mexico City. It is said that he is among the federation representatives whose US visa was either not processed or was denied.
Jibril Rajoub described this situation as unfair, emphasizing that the opportunity for football representatives to participate in World Cup events is being restricted.
The US State Department, however, refused to comment on the visa issue.
For reference, although the Palestinian national team did not qualify for the 2026 World Cup, FIFA tradition dictates that the heads of national football federations are invited to the tournament.
