On August 20, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced at a meeting with journalists that the domestically produced "Flamingo" long-range cruise missile had successfully passed its test.

According to DW, this missile has a flight range of 3,000 kilometers.

Zelenskyy emphasized that this missile is the "most successful project" within Ukraine's missile program. According to him, full details about the "Flamingo" are not being disclosed yet—details may be provided only once one hundred of these missiles are ready for operational use.

Mass production is scheduled to begin in December 2025 or at the beginning of 2026.
