During the visit, Japan's Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya will meet with his Uzbek counterpart Bakhtiyor Saidov in August.
The talks are expected to discuss political, economic, and cultural cooperation, as well as responding jointly to international calls.
Japan expressed its support for projects in Uzbekistan in the fields of "green" energy, social services, and personnel training.
Furthermore, the meeting in Tashkent is considered the first strategic dialogue between the heads of the two states' foreign policy agencies.
