On September 5, three people died as a result of a traffic accident in the Zainsk district of Tatarstan. According to the source, all the deceased were citizens of Uzbekistan.
The Tatarstan prosecutor's office reported that the traffic accident occurred at the 38th kilometer of the Naberezhnye Chelny–Almetyevsk road. For an unknown reason, a Nexia passenger car veered into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a MAN truck.
"The impact was so severe that the passenger car was deformed and turned into a pile of metal. The driver and two passengers of the car died at the scene from their injuries," said a report distributed by local media.
An investigation is currently underway regarding the incident. The prosecutor's office has taken the process under its supervision.
The Consulate of Uzbekistan in the city of Kazan confirmed that 3 citizens of Uzbekistan died at the scene as a result of the traffic accident.
"The situation is being monitored by the Consulate General, and it is planned to send the bodies to Uzbekistan at the expense of the Migration Agency after the necessary procedures have been completed," the consulate's statement said.
