Uzbek grandmaster Javokhir Sindorov has secured another victory at the Candidates Tournament, continuing his lead.
In this round, he achieved a confident victory over Wei Yi, considered one of the world's strongest chess players.
Having scored 5.5 points from 6 games, Sindorov maintains sole leadership in the tournament standings.
For reference, the competition consists of a total of 14 rounds and will continue until April 15.
It is noted that Sindorov also defeated Wei Yi in a tie-break in the final of the 2025 World Cup to claim the main trophy.
We remind you that Javokhir Sindorov is the first Uzbek chess player to participate in this prestigious tournament, which grants the opportunity to compete for the world chess crown. He started the competition by defeating Russian Andrey Esipenko.
