At the traditional Ballon d'Or 2025 award ceremony held on September 22 in Paris, Paris Saint-Germain and French national team forward Ousmane Dembélé won the main men's "Golden Ball." Dembélé's performance last season, along with the successful results achieved by his team at the end of the season in the Champions League and domestic competitions, made him worthy of consideration by the international panel of judges.

At the ceremony, Barcelona and Spanish national team midfielder Aitana Bonmatí won the women's "Golden Ball" — she won this award for the third time, once again demonstrating her status as an influential classic in women's football.

Among the additional awards, the Kopa Trophy for young footballers was presented to Barcelona's young star Lamine Yamal, while the Yashin Trophy for the best goalkeeper was awarded to Gianluigi Donnarumma. A number of awards for teams and coaches were also announced at the ceremony.

These results were determined based on a voting process organized by the publication France Football, taking into account the main criteria — individual and team achievements during the season from August 1, 2024, to July 31, 2025. Dembélé's victory is significant as it marks a new stage for PSG and French football on the international stage.
