A case of drug-related crime was detected in Navbahor district of Navoi region. This was reported by law enforcement agencies.
According to the report, while performing his official duties, prevention inspector of the “O‘zbekiston” mahalla, Bahriddin Yuldoshev, noticed a person moving suspiciously in the mahalla area.
The inspector, who knows the mahalla residents well, attempted to talk to this citizen. However, the person, who was in an intoxicated state, did not comply with the officer’s lawful demands and tried to leave the scene.
After that, an operational-investigative group from the Navbahor district internal affairs department was called to the scene. During the inspection of the citizen, a paper-wrapped substance resembling approximately 7 grams of marijuana was found near him.
During the operational measures, the suspect’s residence was also checked. As a result, it was discovered that he had been illegally cultivating the poisonous plant on his plot.
It is noted that the vigilance and prompt actions of the prevention inspector put an end to this violation.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against the suspect under Part 1 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code in relation to this incident. Preliminary investigative actions are being carried out.
