On September 11 of this year, the open court session of the Namangan City Court on Criminal Cases considered the criminal case against K.R., accused under Part 1 of Article 154 of the Criminal Code, and issued a verdict.

During the complex measures carried out by the operational department of the DXX Namangan Regional Directorate in the directions of ensuring the protection of state security and state interests of Uzbekistan from external and internal threats, and curbing the criminal activities of individuals recruited from among Uzbek citizens to participate in military operations on the territory of another state for material interest or other personal gain, the following was established.

Accordingly, a list of 1,100 Uzbek citizens who participated in the armed clashes between the Russian Federation and Ukraine was published on the "I Want to Live" Telegram channel, which belongs to the Ukrainian state. It was found that entry number 392 on this list was K.R., born in 1970 in Namangan city, residing in Namangan city.

Reportedly, K.R. went to Russia for seasonal work via Kyrgyzstan in June 2023. After working in the Russian Federation for some time, when he went to the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation to obtain a patent, the FMS employees told him that a patent would not be issued, but if he signed a contract to participate in the war between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, he would be granted Russian citizenship and would be able to work in the territory of the Russian Federation.

Subsequently, K.R. voluntarily signed a one-year contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in June 2023 to participate in the armed clashes between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, and served in the Russian Armed Forces as a "driver-mechanic" under the call sign "Grandfather". For his participation in the war against Ukraine as part of the Russian Armed Forces, K.R. received a one-time bonus payment of 700,000 rubles and a monthly salary averaging 150,000 - 200,000 rubles (25-30 million soums).

K.R. was engaged in the technical repair of military transport vehicles used for combat purposes in a military unit of the Russian Armed Forces located in Belgorod, a city on the border with Ukraine.

In May 2024, K.R. was released from service due to serious changes in his health and returned to Uzbekistan at the end of June 2024.

According to the court verdict, the defendant K.R. was found guilty of committing the crime provided for in Part 1 of Article 154 of the Criminal Code. Applying Part 1 of Article 154 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 57 of the Criminal Code, the punishment of deprivation of liberty for a term of 2 years was imposed on him.
