Bukhoro residents who sold 35 thousand dollars worth of mercury were arrested.

During the rapid operation conducted in cooperation with the DXX and law enforcement agencies, two citizens who intended to sell 343 grams of mercury for 35 thousand US dollars were detained in the Bukhara region.

During a rapid operation conducted by the Bukhara regional department of the State Security Service, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, and National Guard personnel, a person born in 1998 residing in Bukhara city and a citizen born in 1984 residing in Bukhara district were detained.

They were caught red-handed while selling three vials containing a total of 343 grams of mercury, banned from free circulation in the country, for 35 thousand dollars, having conspired beforehand.

Regarding this case, a criminal case has been initiated against them under part 2, clauses "b" and "c" of Article 185-1 of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are being carried out.

According to officials, the sale, purchase, or domestic use of mercury and its compounds is strictly prohibited. Because it has a high degree of toxicity, its free circulation within the country is also banned.
