According to "Der Spiegel", with the confirmation of the German Ministry of Defense, the driver of a transport company carrying pharmaceuticals intended for the Bundeswehr left the truck in an unguarded parking lot near the city of Bura. He decided to spend the night in a hotel, and the transport remained unsupervised for several hours.
During this time, unknown persons stole approximately 10,000 pistol cartridges, 9,900 blank cartridges intended for automatic weapons, and tear gas grenades.
The Ministry of Defense assessed the incident as a "serious security breach," emphasizing that such ammunition must not fall into the hands of third parties. According to sources in the Bundeswehr, the theft "cannot be ruled out as having been pre-planned."
Currently, a comprehensive investigation is being conducted by German law enforcement agencies.
We remind you that earlier it was reported that an organized group involved in arms trafficking had been apprehended in Kyrgyzstan as well.
