The U.S. Department of State has decided to temporarily suspend visa issuance processes for citizens of 75 countries. It is known that Uzbekistan has also been included in the list of countries subject to these restrictions.
It is noted that the restriction is being implemented to reduce risks associated with applicants who could potentially become a burden on the state budget. The list includes not only Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, but also a number of countries from Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
According to information, the review of visa applications will be suspended starting from January 21. It is stated that this pause will last for an "indefinite period" as the State Department is reviewing the visa issuance procedures.
Officials have indicated that the restriction is not permanent and that decisions will be reviewed based on internal audits and new requirements.
