Starting from April 1, the monthly salaries and allowances for military personnel serving in the system of the Ministry of Defense in Uzbekistan will be increased. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced this at the Security Council meeting on January 13.
It is noted that the allowance for officers with many years of service will be doubled. The monthly salary of ordinary soldiers and sergeants serving on a contract basis will be increased by 10 percent.
Furthermore, it was established that the salaries of civilian employees working in territorial defense departments and units will be increased by 20 percent this year and by another 50 percent next year.
In addition, for military personnel who have served in the Armed Forces for more than 30 years, the amount of monthly income considered for pension calculation will be raised from 75 percent to 100 percent. Housing construction for military personnel will be expanded.
Relevant authorities have been tasked with developing and submitting to parliament a draft law on pension provision for military personnel.
