A woman in Karakalpakstan died after being hit by a train while crossing the railway at an unauthorized location.
This was reported by the press service of "Uzbekistan Railways" JSC.
The incident occurred on January 22, 2026, between the Gidrouzel and Nukus stations. The woman attempted to cross the railway at a location not designated for crossing and was caught under a passenger train.
"The victim violated traffic rules and did not pay attention to her own safety. Responsible services are investigating the details of the incident," the report states.
"Uzbekistan Railways" reminded citizens of the importance of adhering to established norms for crossing railway tracks. The report did not specify on which route the passenger train involved in the incident was traveling.
