An Uzbek citizen who was internationally wanted through Interpol channels has been extradited from Georgia. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported this.
It is reported that the citizen of Uzbekistan, who was wanted for committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 118 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (rape), has been extradited to the country through Interpol channels.
The wanted person was located on the territory of Georgia and detained within the framework of the international search.
The extradition was carried out as a result of coordinated mutual cooperation and joint rapid-search measures by the Interpol officers of Uzbekistan and Georgia.
It is worth noting that this extradition is the third handover of wanted Uzbek citizens by Georgia in the last two months.
The extradited person was brought to the territory of Uzbekistan accompanied by Interpol officers of Uzbekistan and handed over to representatives of law enforcement agencies for carrying out further procedural actions and bringing to responsibility in accordance with current legislation.
