A second death related to the Nipah virus has been recorded in India, reports zamon.uz.
According to information, a 25-year-old nurse contracted the virus in January of this year from a patient she was treating at the medical facility where she worked. The patient was in critical condition for a long time and fell into a coma.
Although it was later noted that his condition had relatively improved, his immune system weakened as a result of the prolonged severe illness. Subsequently, a lung infection developed and his health sharply deteriorated.
According to reports, the patient attempted to regain consciousness, but later died as a result of cardiac arrest. It was also reported that the virus has been detected in two more medical workers in connection with this illness, one of whom has already recovered.
