Currently, more than 60 children are undergoing inpatient treatment.
On February 20, symptoms such as fever, abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea were observed among children at state preschool educational institutions No. 2, 58, and 61 in the city of Fergana. Starting from 19:00 on February 21, the children were admitted to the Fergana Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital.
Doctors diagnosed them with "Acute diarrheal disease of alimentary etiology" and placed them in the diarrhea department. Currently, 62 children are receiving inpatient treatment, and their condition is assessed as satisfactory.
According to parents, the meals were delivered by Garden Catering Trade LLC. The menu on February 20 also included a meat dish - "tipratikan" meatballs. Some of those who appealed suggest that the children may have been poisoned by meat products.
In accordance with the decision of the regional governor dated July 25, 2024, the catering system, initially implemented on a trial basis in the city of Quvasoy, was later also applied to state kindergartens in the city of Fergana. Subsequently, the responsible authorities determined that this company had failed to comply with sanitary and regulatory requirements in its activities.
According to the Fergana Regional Health Department, sanitary-epidemiological specialists are currently conducting inspections at the kindergartens and the food delivery company, and are performing laboratory tests.
We recall that in September 2025, a case of mass poisoning was also observed in kindergartens in Tashkent region, and a month later, a similar incident occurred in state kindergartens in the Forish district.
