Saint Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov awarded the Uzbekistani Khairullo Ibodullaev, who caught a child falling from the sixth floor, with the "For Courage in Rescue" breast badge.

It is reported that Ibdullaev, who caught a 7-year-old child who fell from the 7th floor of a building in the Petrograd district during his work hours, did not let go of the child despite being injured himself.

The governor expressed gratitude to him on behalf of the entire city and also presented him with a commemorative watch.

"This is true courage. You did not think about yourself and saved the child's life," said Beglov.

Earlier, Shavkat Mirziyoyev had also awarded Khaidrullo Ibdullaev the "Courage" medal.

He also became eligible for a one million ruble reward.
