Julian Nagelsmann, the head coach of the German national team, has left his position. This was announced by the press service of the German Football Association.
According to Nagelsmann, he carefully considered his decision after the team left the World Cup and consulted with the federation leadership.
"I thought a lot after the team left the World Cup. I also consulted with myself and with trustworthy people in the federation. Making this decision was not easy. For me, the most important thing has always been the success of the team. After such a heavy defeat, I believe the team deserves the opportunity to start a new chapter. I express my gratitude to the coaching staff, assistant staff, all my colleagues in the federation, especially the players I had the fortune to work with. Special thanks to the fans. Earlier, the German national team lost to Paraguay in the Round of 16 of the World Cup and said goodbye to the tournament. The match, which ended 1-1 in regular and extra time, was decided on penalties. There, the Paraguayan players won 4-3.
