According to the Academy of Sciences, the museum building has been temporarily closed since February 25, 2026, due to the start of reconstruction, equipment installation, digitization, and the creation of a new exhibition.
It is noted that the renovations will serve to improve the infrastructure based on modern requirements, enrich the exhibitions, and create an interactive environment for visitors.
For information, the museum was opened on October 18, 1996, on the occasion of the 660th anniversary of Amir Timur's birth, and currently, its fund holds more than 7.5 thousand historical exhibits. The reopening date of the museum will be announced later.
