The Road Patrol Service officer who was hit by a BMW driven by a 10th-grade student on February 25 of this year passed away on the night of February 27. The family members of this officer are being taken under state protection. This was reported by the press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Shokhrukh Giyosov.
According to him, Khasilbek, who began working in the internal affairs bodies in 2022, continued his service in patrol post duty from 2024.
During his service, he demonstrated bravery in preventing violations and participated in maintaining public order at hundreds of major international and public events. In 2014, he actively participated in identifying various offenses and apprehending four wanted persons.
He stopped the activities of 12 drug criminals. Considering his diligence, dedication to duty, and importantly, his interaction with citizens, the leadership assigned him to serve as a road service inspector in the Tashkent city Main Department of Internal Affairs from 2025.
During his subsequent service, Khasilbek identified 1,392 violations, of which 324 were gross violations.
He stopped 14 drunk drivers. In addition, he identified 52 violations such as driving in the opposite direction, driving a vehicle without documents, and disobeying a red light, and took legal measures against the offenders.
On February 25 of this year, on Nukus Street in the Mirabad district of the capital, he stopped a minor offender who had stolen a foreign vehicle and was driving at high speed, not sparing his own life to prevent a possible severe consequence.
The officer, who acted heroically, sustained severe bodily injuries. Despite the medical aid provided and the actions of specialists, Khasilbek passed away in the hospital.
"The youngest child in the family, the cherished mountain of his parents, the trusted shield of two daughters and a son, the beloved life partner of his spouse was just about to welcome his 33rd spring," said Giyosov.
Regarding the incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Part 1 of Article 267 (vehicle theft) and subparagraph "d" of Part 3 of Article 104 (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code, and the suspect has been detained.
"The heroic officer was escorted to his final resting place by his fellow service members and the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and his family is under state protection. The courage shown by Khasilbek will live forever in the hearts of the personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, his comrades, and the people he served. The Motherland will never forget its heroic son," said Giyosov.
