Uzbekistan ranks among countries with low levels of artificial intelligence adoption
According to Microsoft's Global AI Diffusion Report, in the first quarter of 2026, only 7.2 percent of Uzbekistan's population used generative artificial intelligence technologies.
The report states that this figure is significantly lower than the global average. During this period, the share of generative AI users worldwide increased from 16.3 percent to 17.8 percent.
Among Central Asian countries, the highest result was observed in Kazakhstan, where 15.9 percent of the population uses AI technologies. In Kyrgyzstan, this figure stood at 9.5 percent.
Uzbekistan ranked third in the region, behind Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. In Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, the rate of generative AI usage was recorded at 6.1 percent.
In the global ranking, the United Arab Emirates leads. In the country, 70.1 percent of the population uses generative AI. Second place is held by Singapore with 63.4 percent. The top five also include Norway, Ireland, and France.
Microsoft specialists noted that the adoption of AI technologies is uneven across the world. Key factors cited include internet coverage, stability of electricity supply, quality of digital infrastructure, and the level of digital skills among the population.
