In Utsunomiya, Japan, the activities of 94 elementary and middle schools in the city have been temporarily suspended due to the first appearance of a black bear. The Guardian reported this.
According to reports, the bear, approximately one meter long, was first seen near a park on Saturday. Later, surveillance cameras recorded it running in the city center. Most recently, on Monday, the animal was reported to have appeared in an industrial area.
Local authorities urged residents to stay indoors, keep doors and windows closed, and not to approach the bear if seen. Police and a group of hunters continue to search for the animal.
