The international rating agency Times Higher Education (THE) has announced the results of the THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026 at an education congress held in Indonesia.
This rating evaluates the contribution of higher education institutions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals based on criteria such as quality of education, scientific research, institutional governance, social responsibility, environmental sustainability, and international cooperation.
This year's rating includes 50 higher education institutions from Uzbekistan. Of these, 24 entered the list of the world's top 1000 universities.
The highest results were achieved by Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after Alisher Navoi and Tashkent State University of Economics, which placed in the 101–200 group.
National University of Uzbekistan and "TIIAME" National Research University ranked in the 201–300 group, while Bukhara State University, Samarkand State Medical University, and Termiz University of Economics and Service placed in the 301–400 group.
