Uzbek grandmaster Javokhir Sindorov won the international chess tournament "Naroditsky Memorial Rapid 2026" held in the USA. won. 

Sindorov finished the main stage of the competition with 6 points in 7 rounds, recording the same result as Indian grandmaster Aravind Chithambaram. The winner was determined by tie-break matches, in which the Uzbek chess player defeated his opponent and won the main prize.

After the victory in the competition, Javokhir Sindorov noted that the tournament had special significance for him.

“I came here just to play chess in memory of Daniel Naroditsky, and I really enjoyed it. Everything was wonderful. I hope this tournament will be held every year. I think Naroditsky was one of the kindest people in the chess world. Usually there are different impressions about streamers, but after meeting him personally, I became convinced of how sincere and good a person he was”, — said Sindorov.

The winner was presented with the cup by Naroditsky's mother.

For the victory, Sindorov was awarded a prize of 3,000 US dollars. At the same time, his international rating indicators also improved: in the rapid category, 6.9 points were added, reaching a total rating of 2724.9, and he rose to 7th place among the world's strongest rapid chess players.

It is noted that this result was one of the important achievements for the Uzbekistan national team ahead of the 46th World Chess Olympiad.
