In Uzbekistan, the largest share among age groups is made up of children aged 0–4. This was reported in the preliminary results of the population census announced by the Statistics Committee.

As of January 15, 2026, the country's population reached 39 million 47 thousand 321 people. Of these, 19.76 million are men and 19.3 million are women.

According to the report, the number of 0–4 year olds is 4.6 million, recording the highest figure among all age categories. Next are 5–9 year olds – 3.85 million people, and 10–14 year olds – 3.4 million people.

Also, the number of 15–19 year olds exceeded 3.15 million, and 20–24 year olds exceeded 2.66 million. It was noted that 2.65 million people live in the 25–29 age group, and 3.17 million in the 30–34 age group.

In terms of regions, the largest population lives in Samarkand region. According to the census results, the region's population is 4.4 million people. The smallest population is recorded in Syrdarya region, where 954.3 thousand people reside.
