According to the U.S. European Command (EUCOM), there are approximately 80,000 American military personnel on the continent. Nearly half of them are stationed in Germany, with around 38,000 serving on a permanent and rotational basis.
Command representatives note that the number of troops fluctuates depending on the international situation. Meanwhile, Donald Trump previously stated that the possibility of reducing the military contingent in Germany is being considered.
The U.S. leader said that a decision on this matter could be made in the near future. He also did not rule out the possibility of withdrawing troops from Italy and Spain.
