After the match, Argentine national team player Leandro Paredes first grabbed Spanish defender Eric García by the neck and then pushed midfielder Gavi. He was then calmed down by his teammates.
In another controversial incident, Argentine defender Nahuel Molina is said to have attempted to trip Spanish national team captain Rodri while he was celebrating the victory.
Furthermore, Argentine national team coaching staff member Roberto Ayala attempted to punch Spanish player Dani Olmo in the face.
