In the first half of 2026, the number of divorces increased in Uzbekistan. During this period, 24,8 thousand marriages were officially dissolved across the country. This is 1,5 thousand more than in the corresponding period of 2025.
According to the State Statistics Committee, 92,3 thousand marriages were registered by the state in January–June of this year. This is nearly 3 thousand fewer than in the same period last year.
Calculations show that over the six months, an average of more than 510 marriages were registered each day. At the same time, an average of 137 families divorced per day.
In the first half of 2025, 95,3 thousand marriages were contracted and 23,3 thousand divorces were officially recorded in the country. Thus, over the course of a year, the number of marriages decreased while divorces increased.
Official statistics do not provide specific reasons for the divorces. However, experts explain this situation by socio-economic problems in families, young people's preparedness for family life, mutual disagreements, and other factors.
Let us recall that by the end of 2025, a total of 267,1 thousand marriages and 46,9 thousand divorces were officially recorded in Uzbekistan.
