The head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, after studying the situation in the "Lolazor" neighborhood in the Mirabad district of Tashkent, sharply criticized some constructions being carried out in areas designated for public use in the capital.
According to her, areas intended for public use should serve their purpose, not be used for constructing office or residential buildings.
According to Saida Mirziyoyeva, in the "Lolazor" neighborhood, trees planted by local residents were cut down, and a business center is planned to be built in place of a children's playground.
"People are crying out – due to the constructions, common yards, playgrounds, and sports fields in the capital are being completely destroyed," she wrote.
In this regard, the Prosecutor General's Office has been tasked with conducting a full inventory of such facilities in Tashkent. In particular, the legality of permits issued for construction, compliance with urban planning norms, and the ensuring of residents' rights will be checked.
According to Saida Mirziyoyeva, if violations of the law are found during the inspections, uncompromising measures will be taken against those responsible. If necessary, the guilty persons may also be brought to criminal responsibility and deprived of liberty.
