UEFA has aimed to remove FIFA President Gianni Infantino from his post. The publication The Telegraph reported this.
According to the source, if Infantino does not voluntarily resign, all 55 UEFA member countries could support a vote of no confidence against him. To initiate such a process, the consent of at least 43 member states is considered sufficient.
According to the report, UEFA is also considering a plan aimed at damaging Infantino's reputation.
Interestingly, during the corruption scandal involving former FIFA President Sepp Blatter, Infantino himself developed a secret project to separate UEFA from FIFA and create an alternative world football organization. Although this plan was not implemented at that time, UEFA is now discussing the possibility of applying similar measures against him.
On August 1, UEFA expressed no confidence in the FIFA leadership. The reason for this was FIFA's plan to sell a share of rights to the World Cup and other competitions to private investors. After this initiative faced sharp criticism, FIFA announced that it would cancel it.
