Officials of the improvement departments in the Sharof Rashidov district of Jizzakh and the Parkent district of Tashkent region are suspected of embezzling budget funds allocated for asphalting. The Department under the Prosecutor General's Office reported.
During the inspections, it was found that asphalting works were not carried out on 6 internal roads in the Sharof Rashidov district, and 634 tons of asphalt worth 348.7 million soums had been sold off.
In the Parkent district, it is stated that although 540 tons of asphalt were not delivered, fake documents were drawn up and 324 million soums of budget funds were embezzled.
Criminal cases have been initiated under Article 167 of the Criminal Code in connection with these incidents, and investigative actions are being carried out.
