A case of embezzlement of liquefied gas cylinders worth 741 million soums was detected in Karakalpakstan.
The Department for Combating Economic Crimes reported that a violation of the law was revealed in the supply department of “Kegayli District Gas” during an inspection conducted by the department’s branch in Kegayli district under the General Prosecutor's Office.
According to the investigation, materially responsible persons in the department abused their official position to embezzle 781 liquefied gas cylinders. Their total value is estimated at 741 million soums.
A criminal case has been initiated on this matter under Article 167 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (embezzlement or misappropriation).
Currently, investigative actions are being carried out on the case.
