Fabio Cannavaro, the head coach of the Uzbekistan national team, stated that some information spreading around the team does not correspond to the truth and said that such information may be spread by someone within the team.

While answering questions from media representatives at a press conference dedicated to the results of the World Cup, the Italian specialist once again denied reports that he receives an annual salary of 4 million euros.

“Again, I say, I don't get that much money. Someone is spreading false information again. I don't know why this is happening. Maybe it's because I'm a foreign coach. Maybe there is a 'rat' inside the team,” Cannavaro said.

According to the head coach, under the contract signed with the Uzbekistan Football Association, he personally pays the salaries of some coaches he brought with him.

“Under my contract, I also pay the coaches I brought with me out of my own pocket. Rolando Bianchi came completely free and agreed to work in the Uzbekistan national team. If we are attracting new coaches, that does not mean the Uzbekistan Football Association is paying them. I bring them at my own expense,” he said.

During the press conference, Cannavaro also touched on the criticism and various information spreading around the team, and emphasized several times that various assumptions and groundless reports may be spread about him because he is a foreign coach.
