Four individuals living in the Sariosiyo district of the Surkhandarya region were found guilty of promoting the ideas of terrorist organizations within a secret group in Russia, distributing prohibited materials, and preparing for terrorist activities. The State Security Service reported this.
According to the information, while they were in Makhachkala, Russia, they distributed materials imbued with extremist ideas through social networks and recruited new members into the secret group.
The group members had planned to go to Syria in the future, join the ranks of militants, and participate in sabotage actions. It was also established that in September 2025, they had planned to commit criminal acts against law enforcement officers in Makhachkala.
As a result of operational measures conducted jointly by the State Security Service and Russian law enforcement agencies, the group's activities were halted.
By the verdict of the Sariosiyo district court, four individuals were found guilty of committing crimes stipulated in Articles 155-2, 244-1, and 244-2 of the Criminal Code, and each was sentenced to 8 years and 6 months of imprisonment.
