In social networks and some media, reports had spread that Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez would get married in Madeira. Because of this, about 2,000 fans and spectators gathered in front of Funchal Cathedral.
While many were waiting for Ronaldo and Georgina, an old "Rolls-Royce" arrived in front of the cathedral. Fans thought the bride who got out of the car was Georgina Rodriguez.
Some fans were wearing the footballer's number 7 jersey, while others wore masks with Ronaldo's image. One of the guests who saw the bride tried to calm the crowd, explaining, "This is not Georgina."
Later it became known that the wedding ceremony of Portuguese citizens Fabio Ramos and Fatima Nicole Cunha Teixeira was taking place in this cathedral.
